Demolition
K&D performs many types of demolition projects and specializes in projects listed by the E.P.A. as Hazardous Waste Sites, as all of our employees are HAZWOPER trained. K&D personnel are also experienced in recycling which saves our clients expensive Landfill costs.

Manufactured Gas Plants
K&D has specialized and performed all tasks associated with dozens of MGP closures.

Emergency Response
K&D has been called upon to respond to accidental spills since it began business in 1974. Spills may occur during a customer's transportation and transfer of materials, such as petroleum products and industrial chemicals, or as a result of production malfunctions. Successful emergency and spill response uses a multi-step approach: assessment, mobilization, containment, cleanup and decontamination. Spills occur at all times of the day and the week. K&D is a 24-hour spill responder. When emergency spills occur, immediate action is crucial. K&D teams are prepared to perform emergency cleanup on land and water.

K&D has been called upon to respond to spill situations by the Ohio E.P.A., the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, the United States Coast Guard and numerous businesses. Each K&D office has dedicated emergency response vehicles standing by for the next call.

Sludge Dewatering & Solidification
K&D tests and evaluates the waste prior to recommending the most cost efficient dewatering and/or solidification techniques. Sludge removal from impoundments or lagoons could involve dredges, environmentally designed crane buckets, filter presses, or a variety of other screening and filtering devices. Projects range in size from several hundred to well over 40,000 cubic yards.

Plant Closures & Decontamination
K&D's plant cleaning and decontamination experience includes concrete and equipment cleaning, contaminated soil and dust removal, and the consolidation of drummed or other wastes generated as a result of plant work.

Soil Fixation & Excavation
K&D does work that requires the fixation of contaminated soil prior to excavation and disposal. Fixation and stabilization can include a variety of techniques.
