Information Request Projects

Since 1974, K&D has offered industrial cleaning services to customers in every imaginable field. K&D's managers and field operators take particular pride in being able to provide solutions to complex industrial cleaning problems. Knowledge in dissolving and removing built-up material from pipes, processing equipment, and sewers shows superior expertise. Having the necessary specialized equipment, and developing new systems along the way, K&D is equipped to handle any situation.

Chemical Cleaning is a prime example of K&D's versatility. Solvents, alkalines, or acids are applied to remove corrosion and scale build-up in trom boilers, process piping, and the sidewalls of process tanks and equipment. The process works best in a closed loop system, where the liquids are circulated continuously over an extended period of time. The most important part of the process is selecting a cleaning agent that removes the deposits while protecting the equipment.

K&D's field engineers possess over 50 years of combined experience in the chemical cleaning business. After determining the composition of the scale, it is key to identify the cleaning agent that will produce the most efficient dissolution rate. However, before starting the cleaning project, a written proposal is composed describing the specified components:

  • Technique to be used
  • Type of solvent
  • Expected result
  • Estimated cleaning time
  • Disposal method
  • Price

Once beginning the process, the following conditions must be constantly monitored:

  • Flow rate
  • Temperature
  • Rate of dissolution
  • Level of pH
  • Solvent concentration

These criteria ensure a thorough cleaning operation. Chemical cleaning requires specialized equipment and trained personnel who have a solid understanding of chemicals and their interaction.
